Features

The Agilent 1100 Series Preparative Fraction Collector (G1364B) is designed for high-flow, preparative-scale HPLC fraction collection. It supports multiple trigger modes, a wide range of collection vessels, and flexible tray configurations, making it ideal for compound purification, method development, and recovery workflows.

The system integrates seamlessly with Agilent 1100 LC modules and supported detectors, offering reliable fraction switching, low delay volumes, and robust safety features for demanding laboratory environments.

Key Features

  • Preparative-scale fraction collection up to high flow rates
  • Multiple trigger modes: time, peak-based, timetable, and manual
  • Support for a wide variety of collection vessels (vials, tubes, well plates)
  • Automatic tray detection and identification
  • Low internal delay volumes for accurate fraction timing
  • Fast 3/2 diverter valve switching (<100 ms)
  • Optional cooling of collected fractions
  • GLP-compliant features including error logging and maintenance feedback
  • Parallel operation of up to three fraction collectors

Technical Specifications

  • Trigger modes:
    • Time slices
    • Peak-based (threshold, upslope, downslope)
    • Timetable (time + peak combination)
    • Manual trigger (with G1323B Control Module)
  • Supported detectors:
    • Fully supported: Agilent DAD/MWD (G1315A/B, G1365A/B), LC-MSD (G1946C/D, G1956A/B)
    • Other detectors usable but not supported for fraction triggering
  • Operating modes:
    • Discrete fractions (default) – flow diverted to waste during movement
    • Continuous flow (optional, well plates only)
  • Maximum flow rate:
    • Up to 100 mL/min (depending on viscosity and backpressure)
    • Maximum pressure at diverter valve: 6 bar
  • Fraction capacities and trays (examples):
    • Well plates (deep well, full or standard trays)
    • Up to 215 × 12 mm test tubes (~7 mL each)
    • Up to 126 × 16 mm test tubes (~12 mL each)
    • Up to 60 × 25 mm test tubes (~25 mL each)
    • Up to 40 × 30 mm test tubes (~45 mL each)
  • Maximum tube volume: approx. 45 mL
  • Test tube / plate height: 48–100 mm
  • Delay volumes (typical):
    • Inlet to diverter valve: ~500 µL
    • Diverter valve: ~15 µL
    • Diverter valve to needle: ~110 µL
    • Needle: ~5 µL
  • Delay calibration sensor:
    • Single-wavelength absorbance detector (654 nm LED + photodiode)
  • Diverter valve:
    • 3/2 valve, internal volume 15 µL, switching time <100 ms
  • Cooling:
    • Optional with G1330B (performance depends on conditions)
  • Maximum system configuration:
    • Up to 3 fraction collectors + 1 recovery collector via selector valve G1160A
