The Laboratory Assistant will assist with basic laboratory functions, such as preparing client samples for analysis, performing extractions and routine lab maintenance. You will be working independently and in a team environment, with an emphasis on providing quality and efficient service to clients.
<h4>Specific Responsibilities</h4>
<ul>
<li>Sample preparation, drying, grinding, pasting, homogenizing, subsampling, filtration, SALM digestion and extract samples of different matrices (including but not limited to soil, water, product, manure, plant, and animal tissue, etc.);
</li>
<li>Assist in managing daily sample workload to meet corporate turnaround times and hold times.
</li>
<li>Coordinates staff, equipment and other resources to maximize production, quality and efficiency.

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation Technician (P2) will work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.
<h4>Responsibilities</h4>

The primary purpose of this position is to follow methodologies, perform analysis, and interpret samples.

Entry Level Laboratory Analyst perform basic laboratory tests. Analysts receive, log, and prepare samples and media, perform required QC checks, and maintain media logs.

<li>The Microbiology Department performs various microbiological testing for Drug Substances, Drug Products, Excipients, Impurities, Medical Devices, Personal Care Products and Water samples.
</li>
<li>The Torrance, CA laboratory has full and part time positions available.
</li>
<li>Some positions may be temporary. Morning and afternoon work shifts/hours available.
</li>
<li>All shifts will require weekend and Holiday shifts rotations as needed.
</li>
<li>Work Schedule: 7am to 3:30pm
</li>
</ul>
<h4>Responsibilities</h4>
<h4>About you:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Perform testing as assigned and work in all areas of the Microbiology department, including the media preparation area.
</li>
<li>Take inventory of microbiological supplies and media. 
</li>
<li>Clean all laboratory areas, sample retain areas and sterility cleanroom. 
</li>
<li>Wash glassware and handle biohazard trash as needed.
</li>
<li>Visit client facility to perform water and environmental sampling.
</li>
<li>Assist with other analysts with their tasks as needed.
</li>
<li>With the guidance of an Analyst and/or laboratory management evaluate data, troubleshooting, and/or process improvements.
</li>
</ul>
<h4>A Required Qualifications:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Prior experience with Microbiology testing procedure noted above.
</li>
<li>Experience working with microorganisms and biohazard trash.
</li>
<li>Experience with aseptic techniques.
</li>
<li>Understanding and application of GLPs and cGMPs
</li>
<li>Quality Control experience.
</li>
<li>High School diploma with a minimum of 1 semester direct experience in a college laboratory environment or 1-year direct experience in a work laboratory environment.
</li>
<li>AA or BS degree in Microbiology or Life Science field preferred.
</li>
</ul>
<h4>Physical Demands:</h4>
<ul>
<li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. Attention to details.
</li>
<li>Experience working in a team environment, strong multi-tasking skills.
</li>
<li>Strong safety culture and adherence to safety protocols.
