Meet the Experts

  • Prof. Jonathan Bones (Principal Investigator, The National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT))

Dr Jonathan Bones received his PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Dublin City University in 2007. He then transitioned to NIBRT, to Professor Pauline M. Rudd’s lab. In 2010, Dr Bones moved to the Barnett Institute of Chemical and Biological Analysis at Northeastern University, Boston, to work with Professor Barry L. Karger. In 2012, he returned to NIBRT, where he currently services as a principal investigator of the NIBRT Characterization and Comparability Laboratory. Dr Bones is also an associate professor for the School of Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering at University College Dublin.

  • Dr. Sara Carillo (Bioanalytical Research Lead, The National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT))

Dr. Sara Carillo completed her PhD in Chemical Sciences in 2013 at the University of Naples “Federico II” focusing on the structural characterization of polysaccharides and glycoconjugates from Gram-negative bacteria via NMR and mass spectrometry techniques. In 2015 she joined CCL group in NIBRT working on the understanding of the effects of extractables and leachables from single-use bioreactors on CHO cells N-glycome and produced monoclonal antibodies. She is now working in NIBRT as Bioanalytical Research Lead and is mainly interested in the development on new analytical approaches to ensure deeper and easier understanding of biomanufacturing process and biopharmaceuticals structural complexity.

  • Xiaoxi Zhang (Application Manager, Pharma & Biopharma, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Xiaoxi Joined Thermo Fisher Scientific China in 2012. Currently she is Application Manager in Pharma and Biopharma vertical marketing team, Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division, Thermo Fisher Scientific. Xiaoxi is managing collaborations with China regulatory authority, biopharma KOLs. She has 10+ publications/orals/posters in biotherapeutic characterization since 2021.

How to attend?

Three ways to participate:

  • Join the Livestream Hub in Seoul (In-person)
    • The Livestream Hub is the heart of the event. Our main agenda will be presented and streamed live to our online audiences, as well as audiences at the satellite locations across APJ. Spots are limited, register early to reserve your seat.
  • Join a Satellite Location (In-person)
    • Participate in person at one of our regional satellite sites. Each location will broadcast the live main agenda and will include additional local programming such as expert presentations, laboratory tours, or interactive workshops. This is an opportunity to connect directly with Thermo Fisher Scientific representatives and regional industry peers. Spots are limited, register early to reserve your seat.
    • Explore the specific agenda available at your selected satellite location.
  • Join Online (Remote Participation)
    • Unable to travel to a Livestream Hub or Satellite location? Not a problem! You can register to attend online, conveniently from your desk or anywhere else to view the livestream broadcast.
