The Staff. Manufacturing Scientist will be a part of the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Research Center. The incumbent will lead organic resign based chromatographic consumables and their components development & manufacturing process optimization.

Staff. Manufacturing Scientist is tasked to lead and implement research & development projects focused to describe multistep resin synthesis, modification, evaluation, and column packing steps. In this role you will apply fundamental chemistry knowledge seeking to define well characterized, robust and reproducible process and their operational ranges.

If you have strong applied chemistry background, have personal capabilities to plan and execute research plan, then this is a great opportunity to participate in novel product development and experience the latest technological advances.

A day in the Life:

  • Technological and scientific content analysis and interpretation.

  • Lead planning and conducting experiments to define critical quality attributes and operational ranges for resin synthesis, modification and downstream process steps.

  • Own data interpretation and presentation to the extended project teams and process collaborators.

  • Design, document, track, and communicate experimental plans, test results, analysis, and unresolved problems.

  • Interact with project managers, operations, and development teams to understand and manage project achievements.

  • Participate in product/process design specification review process and contribute to the product documentation.

  • Identify product variances from standards and suggest modifications to conform.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • PhD degree in science (synthetic organic, inorganic or polymer chemistry), engineering or equivalent.

Experience

  • Proven experience in synthetical organic, inorganic or polymer chemistry in research or industry.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge in synthesis methods, reaction mechanisms, kinetics, and thermodynamics.

  • Solid knowledge in reaction products characterization tools at molecular and physical levels.

  • Must be comfortable interpreting results and relating those with reaction and process conditions.

  • Good theoretical knowledge of IC and/or HPLC fundamentals.

  • Ability to understand and consolidate multidimensional processes.

  • Ability to advise or mentor Scientists and others.

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to lead and prioritize multiple projects.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary matrix managed environment.

  • Ability to present results in a public forum.

  • Perfect English skill on the subject.

  • Ability to travel 10-15% annually globally.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €40,500.00–€60,750.00.
