Senior Scientist - Mass Spectometry

SENIOR SCIENTIS - MASS SPECTOMETRY
Just-Evotec is seeking a motivated and creative Scientist, who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. We are looking for a driven scientist to join a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the Mass Spectrometry group, you will possess strong skills in large molecule characterization and detailed knowledge of assessing common post-translational modifications in protein biotherapeutics. A familiarity with scientific software such as Xcalibur, BioPharma Finder, Protein Metrics, Waters Connect, or Skyline is highly desirable for this position. The ideal candidate also has strong written and verbal communications skills, works well both independently and in teams, and has excellent organization.
This role is onsite at our Seattle location with 4 days a week in the office and 1 day a week from home.
Responsibilities:
Characterization of biotherapeutics using mass spectrometry (intact mass and peptide mapping workflows)
Method development for mass spectrometry-based experiments
Work with team members on technology development to reduce the cost and improve the efficiency, speed, and capacity of analytical testing and analytical methods
Requirements:
Hands-on experience with Orbitrap or TOF technology
Experience with liquid chromatography, including instrument maintenance, and method development
Large molecule and protein characterization experience
Familiarity with mass spectrometry method development
Desire to work in a fast, collaborative, and team-oriented environment
Preferred qualifications:
PhD with 4+ years relevant industry experience, MS with 6+ years industry experience, or BS with 10+ years experience
Experience with troubleshooting complex instrumentation
Experience with other analytical methods including H/UPLC (SEC, RP, HILIC, IEX), CE (CE-SDS, icIEF) - Strength in data science and informatics
Hands on experience with Protein Metrics, BioPharma Finder, Skyline and other mass spectrometry analysis platforms.
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $100,000 to $140,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
