Sr. Software Release Project Manager (Scaled Agile /Device Development)

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading a development team to meet defined goals within a structured project management environment.

This position is part of the Research and Development Department and will be located in Concord, Ontario as a HYBRID role.

• Lead the planning, controlling and coordination of a software project team to deliver and meet defined goals using Agile development practices.
• Facilitate planning activities with key achievements, supervise progress against plans, and resolve appropriate corrective action.
• Empower teams to collaborate, communicate, and deliver on commitments.  This includes driving ownership and accountability to the team.
• Resolve project needs of resources/skills and equipment and ensure projects are delivered within the approved schedule, scope, and budget.
• Produce and deliver project-related communication such as status reports, visual management and progress metrics. Lead and measure the team's performance of project tasks.
• Participate in defining and rolling out Project Management standard methodologies and tools and evangelizing continuous improvement.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent proven experience.
• Prefer 7+ years of demonstrated engineering sector experience as a software engineering professional and\or project manager; experience with both Agile and Waterfall software development environments is required.
• Experience managing system development\integration projects with multi‐disciplinary teams encompassing embedded hardware, firmware and control\processing software.
• Preferred: PMP, ACP, and/or SCRUM Master certification.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, SharePoint or other equivalent resource management and tracking tools.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: 

• Scaled Agile Methodology
• Life sciences background
