Engineer II, Field Service
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking an exceptional candidate to join our team as an Engineer I, Field Service in India. Responsibilities
- Provide front line support for service, service sales, and spare inquiries to help achieve revenue targets.
- Perform onsite installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of HPLC, Ion Chromatograph, UHPLC and Charge Aerosol Detector instruments.
- Interact with customers with integrity, fairness, and technical expertise.
- Prioritize tasks based on business needs and meet call response time agreements for contract customers.
- Achieve revenue targets through successful execution of instrument repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
- Build strong customer relationships to promote and close service contracts and other service products.
- Collaborate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
- Lead spare parts including ordering, usage, returns, and physical count.
- Maintain technical proficiency by attending trainings, team meetings, and staying up-to-date on new products, markets, customers, and competitors.
- Manage travel expenses and adhere to travel policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
- Minimum of 8 to 10 years of meaningful experience in a related engineering and/or customer-facing role.
- Effective questioning skills to identify customer needs.
- Effective time management and proactive approach in planning tasks.
- Collaborative individual who easily adjusts to new circumstances and offers valuable suggestions.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to customer sites, approximately 50% of work time.
- Work remotely at home and in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Flexibility for additional hours and flexible shifts.
