Laboratory Technician - Process
An excellent opportunity to either a start a career or change your current career to a leading testing laboratory.
The Laboratory Technician will work within the main processing Laboratory at ALS Rotherham. Working as part of a team the Laboratory Technician will assist in the microbiological testing of samples, help with the daily quality function, and aid the efficient operation of the laboratory in order to meet customer and internal requirements.
The position will involve:
- Basic preparation (weighing) of food samples. Pipetting samples and pouring media into petri dishes. Regular cleaning and hand washing is required in this role.
- Completing traceability records and adhering to quality policies. Performing daily calibrations and checks.
- Ensuring assigned work is carried out in a timely fashion following the relevant procedures.
- Follow HSE rules and engage in a safe culture.
- The laboratory is a large commercial testing facility in a fast paced environment.
About you - To be successful in this role you will have
- The ability to work alone and as part of a team in a busy laboratory.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to work on own initiative.
- Good communication skills, written and oral.
- Be able to accurately follow written procedures.
- Full training will be provided.
- Must be 18 years or above due to the nature of the work.
