Support Services - Sample Preparation Technician
ALS Laboratories are looking for a Sample Preparation Technician to join their Support Services department at ALS Chatteris. Sample Preparation Technicians require a good mix of skills.
The person will be part of a team performing the daily preparation of samples for analysis, selecting suitable equipment, while maintaining accurate record keeping.
This role would be ideal for somebody with an interest in food, and a great starting point for a science based career!
The position will involve
- Homogenisation of samples, using various blending equipment following client instructions
- Cooking of samples
- Accurate recording of weights
- Use of LIMS LIMS+ and associated systems
- Appropriate storage of samples prior to and after preparation
About You
To be successful in this role you will have
- Flexible approach to working to meet client needs
- Good eye for detail, ability to use own initiative
- Able to work in a fast paced environment while working to quality standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow correct procedures
- Basic computer skills – Excel, Outlook, Internet, Word.
- The ability to work alone and as part of a team
