R&D Engineer
As an R&D Scientist / Engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, validating, and transferring innovative technologies for the development and manufacturing of liquid chromatography solutions, with a particular focus on nano-LC and (U)HPLC systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Apply conceptual and analytical knowledge to address sophisticated and diverse R&D problems.
- Regularly present and report findings and make data-driven recommendations for product and process design to management and project teams
- Design and implement experiments to build consumables prototypes and evaluate their performance against product and market requirements
- Use CAD to create and modify mechanical and parts drawings to support process development, product/hardware design, and marketing materials.
- Verification and validation of new products and processes, technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing environment, arrangement of technology documents and trainings.
- Become an SME on HPLC low flow product design and manufacturing.
- Partner with Product Management, Chemistry, Operations, and Applications to set performance targets and acceptance criteria.
- Work with suppliers to identify, evaluate and qualify new components for products and processes to meet cost, quality, and reliability requirements.
- Drive PPI and sustaining activities including improving critical metrics (cost, yield, cycle time, reliability, customer feedback), and performing FMEAs, root cause analyses and CAPAs as needed for customer support
- Maintain a safe, well-organized lab; own equipment upkeep and inventory.
- Performing other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Education:
- University degree in Mechanical/Materials/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
Experience:
- 1+ years of hands-on laboratory experience; familiarity with HPLC/(U)HPLC or separation science is helpful.
- Experience with design of parts and equipment using SolidWorks, CAD, 3D modeling, or similar software is a plus.
- Design and development of consumer products and associated workflows such as BOMs, etc.
- Strong experimental design and data analysis skills; clear written documentation and public presentation.
