Senior Researcher - Electrochemist for Single-atom engineered materials beyond Nanoscale

Prof. Martin Pumera, Group leader at CEITEC (Pumera research team: www.pumera.org; energy.ceitec.cz; nano.ceitec.cz)  is looking for a highly experienced and internationally recognized researcher for a senior academic position (Professor or Associate Professor) in the field of materials chemistry and/or sensing, nanotechnology and its frontiers. The successful candidate is expected to manage and mentor a research team, and actively contribute to the strategic development of the research group. A strong background in materials science is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

  • Scientific leadership and strategic development of research activities in electrochemistry, materials science, and nanotechnology.
  • Independent conception, acquisition, and management of research projects and grants.
  • Leadership, mentoring, and supervision of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior scientists.
  • Building and maintaining international collaborations and networks.
  • Publication of high-impact scientific outputs in leading international journals.
  • Acting as a scientific mentor and expert resource for the research team.

Requirements

  • Professorial-level experience or strong qualification on the level of associate/full professor level.
  • PhD in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, or related field.
  • Outstanding track record of high-impact publications.
  • Proven experience in leading research teams and supervising PhD students and postdoctoral researchers.
  • Strong record in grant acquisition and project leadership.
  • International research experience and well-established scientific network.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Detailed CV including a comprehensive list of publications, a record of research team and student supervision, and an overview of successfully acquired research grants.
  • Cover letter stating the motivation, his/her contribution to the field and vision.
  • Copy of highest-attained academic degree.
  • Name and contact details of two academic referees.

Employment Conditions & Contact

  • Anticipated start date: Upon agreement. The sooner the better.
  • Highly competitive salary based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
  • Work in general science laboratories.
  • Six weeks of holidays.
  • Full-time – 40 hours per week.
  • Place: CEITEC BUT, Purkyňova 123, Brno, Czech Republic.
