Intern Field Service Engineer

Overview

The Field Service Engineer Intern will support the Waters Korea Customer Success organization by providing structured and supervised assistance to Field Service Engineers (FSEs), while developing early-career technical and professional skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field service support, including assistance with instrument installation, preventive maintenance, qualification, and documentation (under supervision)
  • Shadow senior Field Service Engineers during troubleshooting activities and customer visits
  • Assist with post-service reporting and internal documentation
  • Support customer technical discussions related to sales and applications under the guidance of the team leader

Qualifications

Technical Learning & Skill Development Opportunities

  • Participate in structured training programs covering basic principles of LC systems and related software
  • Develop foundational technical skills through supervised, hands-on activities
  • Gradually expand scope of responsibilities based on competency and performance assessments

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences or related STEM field
  • Preferred Background: 
     1) Exposure to analytical instruments (LC, MS) or laboratory environments preferred
     2) Strong interest in technical service, field-based work, and customer-facing roles
  • Skilles & Competencies:

    1) Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills

    2) Good communication and teamwork abilities

    3) High level of responsibility, discipline, and safety awareness

     4) Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and field-oriented environment

  • Travel & Working Conditions

    1) Domestic travel required under supervision

     2) Field-based role with time spent at customer sites and office

Employment Details

  • Employment Type: Full-time, 2-year contract internship (with potential conversion to full-time FSE)
  • • Work Location: Seoul (Gwangmyung office)
