Microbiology Laboratory Technician
ALS has a fantastic opportunity for a Microbiology Lab Technician to join their team in Clonmel. This role is a genuine career opportunity for someone looking to enhance their career prospects and to join a market-leading company with highly ambitious growth plans in Ireland. Full training will be provided by ALS.
Job Summary
- To perform work as allocated by Shift Supervisor to the high standards of quality required and to inform Shift Supervisor in cases of doubtful validity of results.
- To ensure that agreed quality systems are continually adhered to such as calibration checks, internal quality controls, daily checks, and spiked samples.
- As a member of the team, to ensure that laboratory areas are kept tidy, especially designated area.
- Ensure all operations are carried out in a safe manner with due regard and compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and procedures.
- Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times with respect to customer information.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Third level qualification in Science or related discipline
- Experience in laboratory testing would be a distinct advantage but is not essential
- Excellent standards of PC literacy (Excel, Word)
- Analytical and logical approach with a keen eye for detail
- Keen interest on food science and food safety
- Able to thrive under pressure and work as part of team in a fast-paced environment.
Starting salary of €30,063. Additional shift allowance available for staff working on a shift pattern.
