QC Microbiology Technician (Wed-Sat 12:00pm - 10:30pm)
Are you passionate about protecting product quality and patient safety through your work? As a QC Microbiology Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our manufacturing environments meet the highest microbiological standards. Working onsite in Morris Plains during a Wednesday through Saturday, 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift, you will support environmental monitoring activities, generate high‑quality data, and contribute directly to product release.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and batch‑related environmental monitoring in controlled manufacturing environments.
- Document laboratory activities accurately and in real time, following current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Record, review, and maintain laboratory data in accordance with data integrity principles.
- Support daily setup, operation, and maintenance of the environmental monitoring laboratory.
- Incubate, read, and enumerate microbiological samples using cultured media.
- Prepare microbiology samples and out‑of‑specification media for shipment to contract laboratories.
- Review and track microbiology results supporting timely product release.
- Collect samples and analyze data supporting gowning qualification programs.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning properly.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in microbiology or a closely related scientific field.
- At least one year of experience in a pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical laboratory.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Practices.
- Experience performing environmental monitoring or microbiology testing.
- Ability to document laboratory activities accurately while maintaining data integrity.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and microbiological principles.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and laboratory methods.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience using a Laboratory Information Management System.
- Familiarity with hazardous waste handling procedures in laboratory environments.
