Laboratory Technician - Microbiology
About the Role
ALS Water Division operates a modern commercial laboratory in Scoresby that’s equipped with the latest technologies.
We have a 12-Month, Fixed-Term Laboratory Technician role available supporting the Microbiology Team.
This role is fast paced and requires you to work at speed with accuracy. Experience in a Commercial NATA accredited Microbiology Laboratory and water quality testing would be advantageous.
The day to day
The successful applicants will undertake a range of duties including the following:
- Preparation and samples analysis in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
- Interpretation and result entry into LIMS system
- Completing task accurately, in set timeframes and to the relevant analysis standard
- Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour to the Team Leader
- Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiency
- Contribution to a clean, tidy and organised Laboratory.
The Essentials
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
- Ideally, experience in a Commercial Microbiology Laboratory
- Relevant experience – Degree qualification
- Excellent organisational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Team orientated with ability to work autonomously
- Strong focus on quality and safety standards
- Attention to detail.
