DESCRIPTION:
You will be part of our Process Development team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, contributing to making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As a Scientist I, you will conduct research and development work in advanced facilities, focusing on critical areas like mRNA therapeutics, cell therapy, and viral vectors. You will perform hands-on laboratory experiments, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and support technology transfer to manufacturing. This role offers excellent opportunities for learning and growth while contributing to life-changing therapies for patients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree required, no prior experience required in process development or manufacturing
- Preferred Fields of Study: Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related scientific field
- Strong aseptic technique and experience with cell culture, molecular biology techniques
- Experience with analytical methods and equipment (HPLC, spectrophotometry, PCR)
- Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific documentation
- Knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
- Experience with technology transfer and process scale-up preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Schedule flexibility including occasional evenings/weekends
- Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial
