Experienced Microbiology Analyst

This is a full time, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract position. 39 hours per week, Working Monday - Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 & Friday 08:00 – 15:30.

As a Microbiology Analyst you will work in a cross functional team to support the Microbiology Quality Control testing function, ensuring compliance with cGMP.

Job Responsibilities that you be covering:

  • You will perform a broad range of microbiology testing including bioburden, endotoxin, microbial ID, Biological Indicator testing, BacT/ALERT, sterility checks, and growth‑promotion studies, while carrying out routine laboratory sampling, plate reading, data review, and trending.
  • You will conduct comprehensive environmental monitoring of cleanroom areas, including viable and non‑viable particulate monitoring and water and gas system monitoring, ensuring uniformity, reproducibility, and GMP‑compliant practices.
  • You will support and lead quality investigations related to deviations, prepare and revise protocols, reports, and SOPs, and review analytical data for GMP compliance with strong documentation accuracy.
  • You will collaborate closely with the client team, providing daily updates, maintaining strong working relationships, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring all decisions align with GMP standards and customer expectations.
  • You will contribute to training, cross‑coverage, and continuous improvement by developing solutions to problems, identifying opportunities to enhance quality and service, updating documentation, and keeping training records current.
  • You will maintain a clean, safe, and audit‑ready laboratory environment, operate flexibly with shifting priorities, and consistently demonstrate strong organisation, communication, and problem‑solving skills while working both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

What skills, qualifications and experiences you will hold as a Microbiology Analyst:
  • You will hold a degree in Microbiology or a related discipline, along with at least one year of experience in a pharmaceutical regulatory environment.
  • You will bring hands‑on environmental monitoring experience, strong knowledge of cGMP requirements, and the ability to work independently while meeting established timelines.
  • You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to form strong working relationships and avoid misunderstandings in technical exchanges.
  • You will have a customer‑focused mindset, demonstrating ownership for speed, quality, and accuracy, along with a passion for quality and high service standards.
  • You will bring adaptability, resilience under pressure, and the ability to quickly learn new processes, switch priorities, and contribute effectively within a dynamic, growing team.
  • You will bring strong organisation, accuracy, and documentation skills, along with the capability to solve problems, work with limited supervision, and support continuous improvement.
