Bruker Daltonics has an opening for a Proteomics Applications Scientist located on the East Coast, based in Billerica, MA.
The successful candidate will use their detailed proteomics knowledge and experience to highlight the performance of the Bruker timsTOF product portfolio by producing high quality data on customer provided samples as part of the instrument evaluation process.
APPLICATIONS SCIENTIST, PROTEOMICS (LC-MS)
Responsibilities
Produce the highest quality data in support of the sales process.
Participate in instrument and software demonstrations both in person and remote
Maintain up to date knowledge of products and software tools. Communicate regularly with the factory and regional applications team to obtain timely information on new products, software, and applications. Stay up to date on the latest methods and advances in the field of mass spectrometry and proteomics.
Support the commercial Sales Team with advanced technical information and presentations on-site or via Microsoft Teams to support sales cases.
Occasional travel to customer labs across North America to provide instrument training and troubleshooting assistance.
Create abstracts and posters/oral presentations for conferences.Assist in the preparation of new LC-MS training materials and collateral.
Utilize phone & remote support software to provide remote technical assistance for questions relating to the LC-MS connectivity and to provide support regarding specific methods and workflows.
Qualifications
A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years’ experience and a Master’s degree; or 3 years’ experience and a PhD.
Mass spectrometry, nanoLC, and proteomics experience.
Degree in chemistry/biochemistry or life/analytical science.
Experience with Bruker software products highly desirable.
Experience with commonly used proteomics data processing software such as MSFragger, DIA-NN, PEAKS, Skyline etc.
Experience with Python or R would be an advantage.
Excellent communications and presentation skills.
Ability to interact with customers and in-house staff, with varying levels of knowledge and technical expertise.
Ability to prioritize in a rapidly changing commercial environment.
Self-motivation, and a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.
