STAFF SCIENTIST - NPD

Do you want to work in a Research and Development (R&D) team to develop new products and advance the science of separation through innovation? Do you enjoy enabling scientists in biopharma industry to overcome their analytical challenges to accelerate drug discovery and development?

We are currently seeking a Staff Scientist who will be responsible for new product development and scientific publications to provide differentiated analytical solutions for biopharma industry, in the areas of mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and sample preparation.

What we’ll get you doing:

• Design, develop, validate, and commercialize differentiated solutions/products to address unmet needs in bioanalysis in biopharma industry

• Publish novel concepts/methodologies in high impact peer-reviewed journals to advance separation sciences

• Engage with thought leaders in industry to investigate unmet needs in bioanalysis and partner with Marketing/Product/Sales to synthesize the needs into differentiated technical solutions and product roadmap

• Lead research projects within R&D and in collaboration with Project Management/Product/Operations/Marketing, including proper planning, resource allocation, execution, and completion, to drive high on time delivery of new products

• Improve validation and transfer of technology/testing to Manufacturing/Quality to drive high on time delivery and product reproducibility

The essential requirements of the role include:

• PhD in biochemistry/biology/chemistry/analytical chemistry or related fields with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with bioanalysis in biopharma or biotech industry

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, and other analytical techniques for analysis of biologics

• At least 3 years hands-on experience with mass spectrometry analysis of biologics and related sample preparation workflows

• Strong network in biopharma/biotech industries to enable engagement with customers to investigate unmet needs and validate product concepts

• Deep understanding of existing challenges in separation sciences in biopharma industry

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Proven innovator, with experience of addressing customer needs through technological innovation

• Demonstrate extreme ownership, hold themselves accountable to achieve key project objectives

• Have a technological innovation mindset balanced with commercial acumen

• Experience with oligo, mRNA, and AAV modalities and CRISPR technology are preferred

• Strong record of scientific publications and patents are preferred

The salary range for this role is $130k-$150K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
