Retention times were reproducible, enabling clear peak identification for chloride, phosphate, citrate and quaternary ammonium species. As demand grows for multifunctional beverages and health products, integrated chromatographic methods will be critical. Future work may include automation of sample cleanup, expansion to additional active ingredients and miniaturized systems for on‐site testing.
The combined gradient approach on Trinity P2 and Acclaim Surfactant Plus columns with dual detection successfully quantifies electrolytes and cetylpyridinium in complex matrices.
