Waters Corporation: Automation Strategies to Save Time and Money

Minimize variability, improve traceability, and simplify method transfers to bring improved efficiency to the lab while allowing scientists to increase productivity through the automation of routine and complex sample preparation. In this session, we introduce a simple, smart automation solution and present a real example of cost and time savings. We will also take you through a tour of OneLab software to demonstrate its flexibility, traceability and ease of use.

Presenter: Jennifer Fournier (Director of Product Marketing, Chemistry Technology Center, Waters Corporation)

Jennifer Fournier is the Director of Product Marketing in the Chemistry group at Waters. She joined Waters Corporation in 2004 and has worked in many different parts of the organization. She started in Life Science Research and Development, spent some time in manufacturing and was a Product Marketing Manager for the biopharma workflows in Chemistry. She received her B.S. in Biotechnology and M.S. in Biology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, MA). Prior to joining Waters she taught high school biology for a year and also worked in manufacturing for a small pharmaceutical company. Jennifer currently manages a team that markets and supports the Chemistry Technology Group.

Presenter: Nadim MIRA (Product Marketing Analyst II, Andrew Alliance)

Nadim MIRA graduated in 2013 from the University of Orleans, France with a master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and B>iotechnology. He then joined the Department of Fundamental Microbiology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland as a Ph.D. student in an SNF-funded research project. After 2 years, he decided to pursue a corporate career instead of working in academic research. In 2018, he completed a second master’s degree in Sales and Marketing in the life science industry at the University of Grenoble Alpes, France before joining Andrew Alliance as an Inside Sales Representative. In 2019, he moved to a new role in the marketing team, serving as a Product Marketing Analyst responsible for protocol publication and labware integration in the OneLab cloud-based software.

Presenter: Jeremy Springall (AstraZeneca)

Jeremy has worked at AstraZeneca for the last 7 years in a number of roles across both development and operations in the UK and the US. Prior to this he worked for the Belgian pharma company UCB as an in-process analytical development scientist and for Patheon in small molecule analytics. During his time in industry a consistent part of his role has been the development and implementation of automation solutions to support throughput requirements or for the elimination of repetitive manual tasks.

Host: Lama Berro (Americas Chemistry Field Marketing Manager, Waters Corporation)

Lama Berro is the Chemistry Field Marketing Manager for the Americas. Lama has a baccalaureate in Biochemistry and has spent 12 years working in bioanalytical labs at pharmaceutical companies and contract labs. She has been supporting consumables products at Waters since 2015.
