Waters Corporation: Streamlining biopharmaceutical analyses: live BioAccord demo

Waters position as a leader in the analytical biopharmaceutical market is due to a keen understanding of our customer needs and the ability to build purposeful innovation. This allows the industry to develop their biotherapeutics faster and academic laboratories to accelerate science in their research.

Specifically designed for biopharmaceutical analytical laboratories who need to be able to make more confident and efficient analytical decisions, the BioAccord system delivers high quality reproducible and reliable results without the need for MS expertise. The BioAccord smart MS system is a workflow-based solution that is easy to deploy and operate and ultimately improves decision making and time to results.

In this 30 min live session, you will be able to get a real-life experience of the system.

Dr Heidi Gastall will show you how easy the system is to set-up and operate and will run live experiments on intact mass analyses showcasing the whole workflow from samples to results.

Presenter: Dr. Heidi Gastal (Senior Applications Chemist @Waters)

Heidi Gastall is a Senior Applications Chemist specialising in the analysis of biopharmaceuticals. She works in the European Applications Laboratory at Waters Corporation (Wilmslow, UK), where she demonstrates the capabilities of high resolution mass spectrometers. She has studied proteins using mass spectrometry for over 10 years. Prior to joining Waters, she worked in small molecule and antibody drug discovery at UCB Celltech (Slough, UK). There, she observed the direct impact mass spectrometry has on bringing new medicines to patients who need them. Her PhD at the University of Oxford (UK) focused on the structural and functional characterisation of small heat shock protein HSP27, mainly using structural mass spectrometry. She received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Cambridge (UK).
