Keeping up with the world of purification in early drug development
SelectScience: Best practices to overcome challenges in preparative HPLC: webinar series
Streamlining workflows for higher productivity, sample purity and recovery are primary goals for any laboratory working within the field of preparative liquid chromatography. However, the path to success can vary widely. In this exclusive webinar series, produced in partnership with Agilent Technologies, experts from three different application areas will share their experiences and best practices to help you overcome the key challenges and setbacks associated with preparative HPLC.

Keeping up with the world of purification in early drug development
In recent years, the demand for outsourced purification services has grown exponentially. Almost every Contract Research Organization (CRO) in Europe now employs a purification team to support its chemists. Join Peter Ridgway, co-founder and director of Reach Separations, for an overview of how purification in the field of early drug development has evolved. Ridgway will share insights from the challenging world of contract purification and discuss some of his more complex purification projects.
Presenter: Stéphane Dubant (Principle Scientist, Reach Separations Europe)
Stéphane’s background is in organic synthetic chemistry, but he quickly became interested in chromatography. Initially he was involved in purification (which is still his favorite subject), and later in analytical chromatography. Stéphane has a broad industrial background. During his 5 years at Pfizer (UK), he delivered purification methods and tested and implemented new technologies such as CCC or SFC for purification purposes. He then moved to Waters as a purification and supercritical fluid specialist, where he had the opportunity to extend his experience to other application areas such as the petrochemical, food or cosmetics industries throughout Europe. He then joined Agilent as a liquid phase separation specialist in France. Currently, Stéphane is Principal Scientist at Reach Separations Europe and will be helping to set up the new Reach facilities in Strasbourg in early 2022.
Presenter: Carrie Haslam (Associate Editor, SelectScience)
Carrie Haslam is an Associate Editor at SelectScience, playing a key role in content production and specializing in Alzheimer’s disease and clinical diagnostics. She is finalizing her Ph.D. from Plymouth University, UK, where she developed graphene-based biosensors for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
