SCIEX: Overcoming the quantification of cyclic peptides with the latest triple quadrupole technology

Please join us for a webinar on how to overcome challenges related to the quantification of cyclic peptides with the latest triple quadrupole technology.

Agenda

  • 11:00 a.m. Quantification of cyclic peptides
  • 11:25 a.m. Why a gas generator matters for your mass spectrometer
  • 11:55 a.m. Q&A

The evaluation and quantification of trace-level cyclic peptides in biological matrices have remained challenging due to the high baseline interference in matrices, which can affect:

  • The selectivity of the quantification
  • The production of abundant fragment ions for the quantification
  • The sensitivity of the quantification

Join this webinar and see how the new SCIEX 7500 system is ready to overcome the challenges of the low-level quantification of cyclic peptides with its:

  • Enhanced desolvation and ion transmission based on the E Lens probe
  • Proven dynamic range, precision, accuracy, linearity and reproducibility thanks to the D Jet ion guide
  • Curved, high-energy and efficient collision cell to provide more fragment ions

We will also discuss how gas is used in the mass spectrometer and the importance of having a reliable and validated source of gas for your SCIEX instrument to achieve the best results.

Presenter: Cathy Lane (EMEAI Applications Lead, Pharma and Peptide Quantification, SCIEX)

Cathy joined SCIEX in 2006 as a Support Specialist, focusing initially on protein and peptide applications. She has recently taken up the role of EMEAI Applications Lead for Pharma and Peptide Quantification. She has more than 20 years of experience in the development of LC-MS methods for multiple applications in a range of industries. Cathy obtained her PhD in mass spectrometry-based proteomics from the University of London School of Pharmacy, and prior to that spent several years working in doping control at the Drug Control Center at King’s College London.

Presenter: Dan Leigh (Senior Support Manager UK, SCIEX)

Dan joined SCIEX in 2007 as a Support Specialist focused primarily on small molecule workflows. Since 2016, Dan has held the role of Senior Support Manager, leading the SCIEX UK Support team and running the UK lab facility. In 2020, he successfully relocated the SCIEX UK Centre of Innovation to its new home at Alderley Park. Dan has almost 20 years of LC-MS experience from his time at SCIEX and prior roles in the pharma/CRO industry.

Presenter: Bruce Peat (Marketing Manager, Peak Scientific)

With 7 years of experience in marketing gas generation technology for analytical laboratories, Bruce has been championing Peak Scientific gas generator solutions and rapid-response, on-site services designed to help labs using LC-MS and GC instruments maximize their uptime. Most recently, Bruce has been showcasing Peak Scientific’s market-leading Genius XE SCI 2 product, developed with SCIEX, which supports both the SCIEX 7500 system and the Echo® MS system.
