Thermo Scientific: Back-to-school: The real impact of HPLC and column parameters

In this educational back-to-school webinar, James Grinias (University of Rowan) and Frank Steiner (Thermo Scientific) discuss strategic approaches for development, optimization and transfer of legacy and modern HPLC methods, utilizing gradient elution.

Discussion topics and data on how to more easily move to core-shell column technology, how to modify gradient methods effectively, and how to work within the framework of evolving rules for method transfer such as USP 621. We also discuss using the right tool to reduce the impact of method transfer across HPLC platforms.

Key learning objectives
  • Understanding gradient-based LC separations
  • Scalable parameters in pharmacopeial method modernization
  • Tricks and tips on method development and transfer

Presenter: James Grinias (Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Rowan University)

James P. Grinias, Associate Professor, Rowan University, teaches analytical and bioanalytical chemistry. His research focuses on UHPLC columns and instrument miniaturization. His work has been recognized with recognition from the American Chemical Society Subdivision on Chromatography and Separations Chemistry, LCGC magazine, and The Analytical Scientist magazine.

Presenter: Dr. Frank Steiner (Sr. Manager of Product Applications and Scientific Advisor, Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry, Analytical Instrument, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Dr. Frank Steiner is Sr. Manager of Product Applications and Scientific Advisor in the HPLC organization of Thermo Fisher Scientific and coordinates scientific collaborations with external partners to advance UHPLC technologies and applications.
