Wiley Analytical Science: Weigh It Right the First Time in Karl Fischer Titration

Karl Fischer titration is a widely used analytical method in quality control and research & development. Accuracy and precision of the results are critical to ensure the efficacy of process and final products.

Weighing is an integral step of analytical measurements and determinations in all laboratories. As weighing forms the first stage of the analysis chain, accuracy and precision of the eventual results would be highly influenced by the reliability of the weight.

Key Learnings:

Join us in this webinar by Metrohm and Sartorius to learn about:

  • The factors affecting accuracy and precision in Karl Fischer titration
  • Fundamentals in weighing
  • System integration for titrator and balance
  • Compliant documentation of the weighing process (FDA CFR 21 Part 11)

Presenter: James Palmer (Field Application Specialist, Sartorius Corporation, USA)

James has worked in the weighing industry for 30 years. He has been with Sartorius for 10 years as the lead Metrologist for North America and Weighing Specialist for both the West and East Coast. Prior to Sartorius Jim worked for distribution in the weighing industry for 20 years performing service and sales of weighing devices.

Presenter: Michael Margreth (Senior Product Specialist Titration, Metrohm International Headquarters, Switzerland)

Michael Margreth studied chemistry at the University of Applied Science in Muttenz, Switzerland, before joining Metrohm in 2005 as an application specialist where he gained valuable titration experience in the application laboratory. Since 2008, he has mainly focused on Karl Fischer titration and the determination of water.

Moderator: Róisín Murtagh (Editor Wiley Analytical Science, Wiley)

Róisín Murtagh is an editor for Wiley Analytical Science Magazine. She studied science at Maynooth University, Ireland, and has an MSc in Medicinal Chemistry from the Open University, UK. She has over 10 years of analytical science experience from both industry and academic research.
