Recent advances in liquid chromatography hardware and UHPLC columns have enabled LC and LC/MS experiments to be faster and more sensitive.

However, running HPLC experiments on low-dispersion instruments can lead to earlier retention times, elution order changes, and differences in resolution compared to that previously observed. Additionally, methods developed on HPLCs and UHPLCs from different vendors can also result in differing chromatographic profiles.
