Thermo Scientific: Expanding the breadth of water contaminant determinations with ion chromatography and discrete analysis

Discrete analyzers are robust, easy-to-use, and provide parallel measurement of multiple analytes in as fast as 10 minutes. Compared to traditional wet chemistry techniques, they provide equivalent or better data quality while speeding up the determination process significantly. Adding this automation to one’s laboratory workflow significantly reduces the amount of reagent used and analysts’ bench time. Ion chromatography (IC) is a well-established analytical method that expands the breadth of water analyses by offering distinct capabilities that include ultra-trace level determinations for a broad spectrum of analytes. Thermo Scientific Dionex IC Systems can be tailored to meet specific anion and cation analysis needs providing direct determination of multiple analytes in a single run and the ability to handle challenging sample matrices.

In this webinar, Timothy Traynor, Technical Specialist at Pace Analytical will present comprehensive water analysis workflows utilizing integrated discrete analyzers and Dionex IC systems and discuss their complementary benefits that offer high sensitivity, flexibility, and sample throughput, helping laboratories in Pace’s network to reduce overall cost per test and increase laboratory productivity.

Gary He, Product Marketing Manager, will also discuss the recent advances of Thermo Scientific Gallery Aqua Master Discrete Analyzers that enable more automation and better U.S. EPA compliance.

Dr. Carl Fisher, Product Marketing Manager, will conclude the session by providing a high-level overview of the tailored Thermo Scientific IC solutions that are integral to comprehensive water analysis.

Presenter: Timothy Traynor (Technical Specialist, Pace Analytical)

Timothy Traynor has been a Technical Specialist in Pace’s IDEA Lab since 2019. Prior to his current role, Traynor has worked as a Chemist and a Metals Analyst at Pace, and a Chemist at the North Dakota Department of Health, among others. Traynor has a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Concordia College and a master’s degree in Theology from Saint John’s University.

Presenter: Gary He (Product Marketing Manager - Gallery Discrete Analyzers, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Currently serving as the Product Marketing Manager for the Gallery discrete analyzers within Thermo Fisher Scientific, Gary is responsible for leading the marketing programs to drive sustainable technology adoption in established applications such as water, nutrient, agricultural, food and beverage analyses, and in new adjacent applications, such as enzyme analysis for food and beverage, animal nutrition, grain processing, home care detergent, and biopharma.

Presenter: Carl Fisher (Product Marketing Manager - Ion Chromatography, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

In his current role, Carl is the Product Marketing Manager focusing on environmental applications for ion chromatography and sample preparation products . Prior to this, he spent several years as an analytical chemist as a member of the Applications Laboratory team, producing technical and application notes.
