Thermo Scientific: Overview of standardized IC methods for water analysis

Ion chromatography (IC) is a technique extensively used to analyze water samples from different sources, including drinking water, surface water, and wastewater.

Strict adherence to national or global standardized ion chromatography methods, including ISO, ASTM, and DIN, is critical to guarantee reliable and accurate results. Furthermore, standardization provides a unified analytical method for comparing and evaluating environmental monitoring data sets.

In this webinar, our European Senior Ion Chromatography Expert, Detlef Jensen, will explore the critical role of standardized ion chromatography methods in water contaminant analyses.

ISO and ASTM IC procedures for the following water contaminants will be covered:

  • Disinfection byproducts e.g., bromate

  • Perchlorate

  • Chromate

  • Cations, e.g., sodium, calcium, and ammonium

  • Anions, e.g., chloride, nitrate, and fluoride

Who should attend:

  • Environmental and water testing laboratories

  • Laboratory scientists and technicians testing using IC

  • Water and environmental analytical chemistry laboratory manager

  • Contract testing laboratories

Presenter: Detlef Jensen (Sr. Application Expert Applied Markets, EMEA, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Detlef holds a PhD in chemistry from the Technical University Berlin/Germany. For 30 years, he covered many positions at Dionex and Thermo Fisher Scientific. He is supporting our users and our team of field experts all over Europe with his deep knowledge of all expects of ion chromatography and its applications
