PFAS Can Be Anywhere, We Can Help You Find It
Thermo Scientific - Environmental Webinar Week
PFAS compounds are prevalent in all areas of the environment, around the world. The need to detect these “forever chemicals” is increasing each year to find hotspots or areas of high concentration and better understand the impact to the public health and the ecosystem.
Determination of PFAS can be challenging because of many factors. One of the difficult elements of PFAS analysis is determining the total impact and fate of PFAS in water samples. This presentation explores both targeted and untargeted screening methods, and how automation improves these analyses to better understand total range of PFAS in water samples.
Presenter: Chris Shevlin (Product Marketing Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific)
Chris started working in a pharmaceutical laboratory running HPLC and other chromatographic methods in a QC laboratory. After earning an MBA in 2004, he worked in sales, product management, and marketing with a few of the major analytical instrument manufacturers. In 2015, Chris joined Thermo Fisher Scientific selling IC, HPLC and GC systems in the northeastern US. This year, he moved into a product marketing role with the Ion Chromatography business unit. Chris’s entire career has been focused on chromatography, first as a chemist in the lab, then with Thermo Fisher Scientific doing sales and now as a marketing manager. This experience has helped him gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges that analytical laboratories face and how to improve their workflows and processes.
