Metrohm - Thermometric titration: What it is and how it makes your most challenging samples a walk in the park

Are complex and/or contaminated samples making your titrations a challenge? There is no suitable potentiometric sensor available for your analyte? We recommend you consider thermometric titration (TET). Instead of a potentiometric sensor, thermometric titration uses a maintenance-free temperature sensor and records the temperature change in the sample solution during the titration reaction: The endpoint is registered when the titration reaction has stopped and with it any change in the temperature of the sample solution.

Thermometric titration provides results in less than 3 minutes and hardly any sample preparation is required. The thermometric sensor can be stored dry, and you can use this sensor for different applications such as acid number (ASTM D8045) and base number in petrochemical samples, NPK in mineral fertilizers, sodium in foodstuffs, and many more.

Register now for this webinar and learn more about the many benefits of thermometric titration for your routine analytics!

Key learnings of this webinar:

  • Understanding the principles of thermometric titration

  • Getting an idea of the many applications of thermometric titration in various industries (food, petrochemicals, fertilizers, ...)

  • Learning how to implement thermometric titration in your laboratory

  • Learning how thermometric titration can be automated using a sample robot

Presenter: Dr. Mona Wagner (Application Specialist, Metrohm International Headquarters)

Mona Wagner studied chemistry at the University of Marburg (Germany) and earned her PhD from the Federal Technical University (ETH) Zurich (Switzerland). She joined Metrohm in 2020 as an application specialist and has gained extensive practical experience in various titration techniques, including thermometric titration.
