US HUPO: New Frontiers in Spatial Omics

Dr. Wanqiu Zhang will report on the novel spatial multi-omics pipeline for integrating spatial lipidomics and transcriptomics data of prostate cancer.

Dr. Maria Mantas will report on quantitative mass spectrometry imaging of lipids in brain tissue using a multi class internal standard mixture.

Presenter: Wanqiu Zhang (Machine Learning Scientist, Aspect Analytics)

Dr. Wanqiu Zhang obtained her PhD in the department of Electrical Engineering at KU Leuven (Belgium), specializing in machine learning, spatial multi-omics data analysis. She has joined Aspect Analytics as a machine learning scientist since she finished her PhD. She is currently actively leading and involved in multiple spatial multi-omics projects.

Presenter: Maria Mantas (Bioinformatician, Aspect Analytics)

Maria Mantas obtained her PhD in Computational Comparative Genomics at the University of Edinburgh, specialising in molecular biology, genetics, phylogenetics and pathway analysis using Big Data. Since joining Aspect Analytics as a Bioinformatician in 2022, Dr. Mantas has been involved in various spatial multi-omics integration studies, involving proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics data, as well as spatial transcriptomics and imaging mass cytometry. Many of her current projects also include integrations with the Allen Mouse Brain Atlas.
