One of the key aspects of water quality assurance is monitoring disinfection byproducts (DBPs), especially haloacetic acids (HAAs), bromate, and dalapon.

As these substances pose a significant health risk, regulatory bodies across the world, such as the US EPA and the European Union, have established strict guidelines to limit their presence in drinking water. The EPA Method 557 by the US EPA standardizes the comprehensive monitoring of 9 HAAs, bromate, and dalapon.

This webinar will discuss the latest advancements in analytical techniques and instrumentation that meet the regulatory requirements. The focus will be on exploring the capabilities of ion chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (IC-MS and IC-MS/MS), a method that is highly sensitive, reliable, and efficient in detecting low levels of HAAs and other DBPs without requiring extensive sample preparation.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the seamless integration of HAA analysis by IC-ESI-MS/MS and IC-ESI-MS within water laboratories, demonstrating consistent results and efficient lab processes. Our experts will showcase how ion chromatography and mass spectrometry provide a streamlined workflow, from sample injection to analysis, significantly reducing manual labor and associated costs.

Key learnings of this webinar:
  • Learn how IC coupled to mass spectrometry is the ideal and most reliable technique for analysis of HAA, bromate, and dalapon in drinking water
  • Develop an understanding of how ion chromatography and mass spectrometry can complement each other to enhance selectivity and sensitivity
  • Learn to know Metrohm and Agilent as your reliable lab partners
Who should attend?
  • Water utility operators who need robust and dependable analytical techniques to guarantee the safety of drinking water
  • Scientists, researchers, and analytical method developers who need to stay up-to date on state-of-the-art methods for water analysis
  • Laboratory staff and managers considering to implement reliable, cost- and time-efficient analysis of HAA in their lab
