Wiley: Feel the Need, the Need for Speed: Advances in RapidFire-MS Analyses for Faster, Larger Runs with Less Sample Preparation

See how RapidFire is accelerating mass spec analyses for High Throughput Screening (HTS), ADME, biopharma, synthetic biology, food, and life sciences laboratories by replacing chromatography with a simple sample cleanup step and producing quality MS results in seconds.

We will discuss the latest developments in the RapidFire technology and how it enables a more productive, efficient, and cost-effective laboratory. Blazing-fast runtimes mean that your lab can eliminate backlog, improve turn-around times, and meet the demands of an ever-increasing number of samples. Improved sample consumption with the ability to use up to 7-fold less material translates to even more cost savings per sample. An increased plate storage capacity, support for 1536-wellplates, and temperature-controlled sample storage increase walk-away time, giving users more time to perform other lab duties. We will explore how labs are leveraging these advances, both individually and in tandem, as we discuss a variety of new applications demonstrating the benefits of this improved, fully integrated system.

Key Learnings:

  • See how to generate high quality mass spec data in seconds per sample
  • Learn strategies for improving lab efficency and productivity
  • Understand the advantages and limitations of Solid Phase Extraction Mass Spec

Who Should Attend:

  • Lab Managers
  • Lab Analysts
  • Chemist
  • Analytical Scientists
  • Lab Directors

Presenter: Jennifer Hitchcock (Application Scientist, Agilent Technologies)

Jennifer is an Application Scientist with Agilent Technologies, developing methods utilizing LC and RapidFire front ends with mass spec detection for clinical and cannabis labs. Prior to joining Agilent in 2015, Jennifer worked as an R&D scientist in a clinical testing lab in North Carolina. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family in Richmond, Virginia.

Presenter: Kevin McCann (Product Manager, Agilent Technologies)

Kevin McCann focuses on high-throughput LC/MS solutions at Agilent Technologies in product marketing for RapidFire and StreamSelect. He has also worked as an application scientist, developing and supporting a variety of LC/MS applications.

Presenter: Christina Poggel (Product Manager, Wiley)

Christina Poggel has been leading the Science and Industry Content Strategy team at Wiley since 2024. Previously, she was Editor-in-Chief for Wiley Analytical Science from 2019, after joining Wiley as an Editor in 2017. Christina Poggel holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Organometallic Synthesis and Homogeneous Catalysis from Philipps University in Marburg, Germany. In the course of her research, she applied various spectroscopic, chromatographic, and mass spectrometric methods.
