Metastatic progression is the primary cause of death in most cancers, yet the regulatory dynamics driving the cellular changes necessary for metastasis remain poorly understood.

In this webinar, Dr. Steven Offer, Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa Health Care, will discuss how a comprehensive multi-omics approach was used to identify the regulatory mechanisms in cancer metastasis.

By adopting this approach to study colorectal cancer invasiveness in a well-controlled experimental setting, the major regulators of this process were identified. Identifying these latent changes has the potential to greatly improve our understanding of the complex regulatory processes that control metastatic progression. This also helps to identify novel features of cancer that can be therapeutically targeted.

Key learning objectives

  • Understand how to identify and characterize epigenomic changes using various sequencing approaches (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq) and mathematic models (pGENMi model)
  • Learn how to measure cell migration, invasion, and proliferation with label-free real-time cell analysis technology

Who should attend?

  • This webinar will provide insights for researchers who want to learn about multi-omics approaches to characterize epigenetic changes in cancer and metastasis.

Certificate of attendance

All webinar participants can request a certificate of attendance, including a learning outcomes summary, for continuing education purposes.

Presenter: Steven Offer, Ph.D. (Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa Health Care)
