Gel permeation / size exclusion chromatography (GPC/SEC) is the most widely used technique to characterize the molecular weight distribution and architecture of polymers, which are key parameters to understanding their properties in the perspective of their targeted use. In order to achieve the most accurate characterization, a GPC/SEC experiment must combine the best possible chromatographic separation with high-sensitivity measurements from multiple complementary detectors.

The stability of the chromatography system, the separation capabilities of the columns, the sensitivity of the detectors as well as the data processing performance are all critical parameters to optimize the quality and reliability of the information obtained from GPC/SEC analyses.

By attending this webinar you will...

  • understand the key parameters influencing GPC/SEC results
  • learn about the latest technologies in GPC/SEC-dedicated instrumentation, columns and light scattering (MALS) detection
  • discover how to improve the characterization of polymers.

Presenter: Subin Damodaran (Product Specialist, Tosoh Bioscience)

Dr Subin Damodaran received his doctorate in chemistry from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany in 2016. During his PhD he was actively characterising various finished and semi-finished polymer products using spectroscopic and chromatographic methods. Since 2016, he joined as product specialist and an integral part of the GPC team of Tosoh Bioscience. He is currently working for GPC/SEC instruments, columns and detectors produced by Tosoh.

Presenter: Sébastien Rouzeau (GPC/SEC Systems Product Manager, Tosoh Bioscience)

Dr Sébastien Rouzeau holds a PhD from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA Lyon, France) in 2004. He joined Tosoh Bioscience in 2017 as the GPC/SEC systems product manager with extensive experience of GPC/SEC technologies and applications.
