Waters: Why Zeta Potential Matters: Key Insights and Solutions with the ZetaStar™ Instrument

There is a growing demand to characterize the size, polydispersity, and charge (zeta potential) of particles and macromolecules under physiological conditions. This is particularly relevant for scientists developing more stable gene therapies and vaccines, especially lipid nanoparticle delivery vehicles.

In this webinar, we will demonstrate how the ZetaStar™ Instrument can be utilized in research and development to better understand how formulation, solvent conditions, storage, and stress can alter the properties of a sample. Learn more about this instrument and its place in this fast-paced research area followed by live Q&A with the presenter.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Explore advanced light scattering technologies for biophysical characterization of LNPs
  • Utilize electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) to determine zeta potential, even in challenging samples
  • Assess the effects of formulation, solvents, storage, and stress on LNP quality during R&D

Who should attend:

  • Pharmaceutical and biotech researchers developing LNP formulations for drug delivery and mRNA vaccines
  • Formulation scientists optimizing nanoparticle composition and manufacturing processes
  • Quality control analysts focused on characterizing LNP and nanoparticle properties like zeta potential
  • Graduate students and post-doctoral researchers studying LNP and nanoparticle technology

Presenter: David Golonka, Ph.D. (Waters | Wyatt Technology)

David Golonka is an Application Scientist at the Analytical Laboratory of Wyatt Technology Europe GmbH, the leading provider of light scattering instruments for the solution-based characterization of macromolecules and nanoparticles. He studied chemistry and biochemistry and later received his Ph.D. degree in Protein Biochemistry from the University of Bayreuth (Germany) where he did research on photoreceptor proteins. His role at Wyatt Technology Europe involves application consulting, method development and contract research in close cooperation with outstanding customers from the pharmaceutical and chemical industries as well as renowned research institutes and universities.
