The Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Exploris 480 MS is a next-generation benchtop quadrupole-Orbitrap hybrid mass spectrometer that significantly advances performance and sets the new standard for high resolution, accurate mass (HRAM) data confidence. Leveraging new design features and novel ion-optics, the system brings performance and intelligence together with higher quantitation accuracy and precision. The extended capabilities deliver the performance, robustness, reliability, and data certainty beyond that of current high resolution mass spectrometers.

Who should attend:

  • Director, PIs & Managers of Proteomics labs
  • Director, PIs & Managers of Biopharma labs
  • Current users of Q Exactive technology & QTOF MS analyzing peptides & proteins

What you will learn:

  • Sensitivity and selectivity using FAIMS Pro interface ion mobility technology
  • Global proteome profiling with multiple quantitative approaches
  • Protein characterization for translational research

Presenter: Aaron Robittaile, Ph.D. (Senior Product Marketing Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Aaron Robitaille has focused his career on using mass spectrometry to understand how eukaryotic cells dynamically and quantitatively respond to their environment to ensure proper cell growth and determine cell fate. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Basel in Switzerland utilizing a phosphoproteomics to identify a mechanism by which the conserved kinase mTOR regulated pyrimidine synthesis and promoted cell proliferation. He then completed his post-doctoral research at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA using quantitative proteomics to study how embryonic stem cells differentiated. Currently, Aaron Robitaille is a Senior Product Marketing Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific in San Jose, CA. He is focused on supporting workflows that use differential ion mobility on a FAIMS Pro interface to help develop innovative mass spectrometry technology that answers challenging biological questions.
