Thermo Fisher Scientific: Unlocking the Secrets of Complex Pesticide Residues: Advanced Techniques with Compound Discoverer Software

Are you looking to streamline your data analysis and enhance your compound discovery workflows? Join us as we discover how the National Food Institute of Denmark is using Thermo Scientific™ Compound Discoverer™ software to revolutionize their analysis process and uncover the latest advancements that are now available in this innovative solution.

Hear from industry expert Julio Espana as he presents his cutting-edge research on adjuvant residues from pesticide formulations on harvested crops.

Discover:

  • Real-world application: Learn how his team identified complex polymers using a non-targeted method and a customized Kendrick mass defect approach. See how tailored visualization tools were utilized to highlight charge states and homologous series of ethoxylated units, effectively identifying the "needle in the haystack."
  • Practical takeaways: Gain actionable insights that you can immediately apply to your own projects, whether you're new to the software or looking to optimize your current workflows.
  • New features: Explore the newest updates to Compound Discoverer software, designed to make your analysis faster, smarter, and more efficient.

A live Q&A session will follow after the webinar. Don’t miss this opportunity to elevate your data analysis and compound discovery processes!

Presenter: Ralf Tautenhahn (Manager, Product Applications, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Dr. Ralf Tautenhahn earned his Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (2009) at the Martin-Luther University while working in the metabolomics group led by Steffen Neumann at the Institute for Plant Biochemistry in Halle, Germany. He later joined Gary Siuzdak’s group at The Scripps Research Institute and continued his work to develop algorithms and software for LC/MS data processing and interpretation. In 2013, Ralf joined Thermo Fisher Scientific as a platform manager for metabolomics software. Over the last 10 years he has overseen the development of the company's Compound Discoverer software for small molecule research.

Presenter: Julio César Espana Amórtegui (Postdoctoral Researcher, National Food Institute at the Danish Technical University)

Julio Espana is a postdoctoral researcher in the analytical food chemistry group at the National Food Institute at the Danish Technical University. His work focuses on improving results from official control laboratories and developing innovative analytical methods using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS). Julio earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and has extensive experience in pesticide residues, veterinary drugs, and marine biotoxins. He has contributed significantly to the field, including his work at the EU Reference Laboratories for Pesticides and the Swedish Food Agency.
