PFAS contamination in drinking water is regulated by the EPA, and compliance is crucial to protect human, animal and environmental health. In order to efficiently monitor PFAS contamination, we must accurately identify and quantify PFAS in various samples and understand how different PFAS analytes in reference materials and sample vials react to solvents and surface interactions.

Join LGC Standards Technical Director, Dr. Dan Biggerstaff, and Segment Manager, Dr. Kelly Cheshire, as they discuss the research exploring the parameters that impact data integrity with the analytes in EPA Method 1633, UCMR 5 and EU DWD. They will also explain the work performed investigating response factors to arrive at the optimum reference material design, and share how this can be implemented to improve efficiency, free up resources, and give you confidence in your results.

Key learning objectives:
  • Discover PFAS reference materials that are quality accredited to keep pace with fast-changing regulations
  • Learn how this can be implemented in your environmental and food and beverage analytical testing facilities
Who should attend?
  • Individuals working in the environmental and food and beverage industry including quality mangers, chemists, researchers, manufacturers and academia.
Certificate of attendance

If you attend the live webinar, you will automatically receive a certificate of attendance, including a learning outcomes summary, for continuing education purposes.

If you view the on-demand webinar, you can request a certificate of attendance by emailing [email protected].

Presenter: Dr. Dan Biggerstaff (Technical Director, LGC Standards)

Dr. Dan Biggerstaff has a combined history of over 35 years' experience in both industrial and environmental analytical chemistry and reference material manufacturing, leading him to his current position as Technical Director of LGC Standards. He graduated with a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Delaware in 1981.

Presenter: Dr. Kelly Cheshire (Segment Manager, LGC Standards)

Dr. Kelly Cheshire holds a PhD in Forensic Science from University College London, specializing in chemical analysis of forensic evidence. As Global Segment Manager at LGC Standards, Dr. Cheshire is responsible for developing LGC Standards' portfolio to support customers in the environmental and forensics markets, and for collaborating with thought leaders in industry in an effort to share and build knowledge with the scientific community.
