Thermo Fisher Scientific: Introducing statistics insights node
Thermo Fisher Scientific: Introducing statistics insights node

You are invited to join us for a short Thermo Scientific Proteome Discoverer software online workshop, describing the functionality of the Statistics Insights node. This node, new in Proteome Discoverer 3.2, enables extracting statistical data from the studies within Proteome Discoverer environment.

The users working with larger quantitation studies might find the new node especially useful, as well as those who cannot (or do not want to) use external scripts via the scripting node, which is often the case in a regulated environment.

Agenda:

  • Proteome Discoverer 3.2 and Statistics Insights node introduction
  • Parameters overview
  • Stats Configuration File (mandatory XML tags; operators)
  • Elementary example step-by-step
  • Defining Filter Sets
  • Combining Stats Configuration File with Filter Sets
  • Advanced operations definable in that node
  • Advanced example step-by-step
  • Q&A session

Participants will be able to use the Q&A chat to submit their questions related to Proteome Discoverer statistics and quantitation algorithms to be answered during the session.

The workshop is free-of-charge.

You cannot attend the live broadcast on April 29? Please register to automatically receive the link to the recording.

This session is recommended for:

  • Intermediate/advanced users of Proteome Discoverer would likely benefit most from this workshop.

*Novice users, and those wishing for a quick refresher, are advised to review our past training material from November 2024 that can be accessed here.

Presenter: Pedro Navarro (Software Research Scientist, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Pedro Navarro finished his bachelor's degree in Physics a myriad years ago. His Ph.D. focused on algorithms characterizing proteins in Proteomics experiments. He has been working on improving identification and quantification in Proteomics workflows since, with some attention to statistics (which makes him apparently a “statistician”, a nickname he resents deeply).

Presenter: Michaela Scigelova (Product Support, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Michaela provides customer support to Thermo Scientific Proteome Discoverer software users.
