Metrohm: viva 4.0: New key features and benefits for CVS and voltammetric trace analysis

Over the years, viva has become the preferred software solution for voltammetric trace analysis and Cyclic Voltammetric Stripping (CVS). In an upcoming webinar on June 25, we will present how the latest features of viva improve key applications for both techniques.

For plating bath analysis by CVS, there is a faster and more accurate way to determine some brighteners. No standard addition is needed for this kind of determination. Moreover, the electrolyte value, required for the response curve (RC), can now be determined and stored separately. It can therefore be used for subsequent calibrations and determinations, reducing the time per analysis and reagent consumption.

Regarding voltammetric trace analysis, lower detection limits can now be achieved by subtracting the background signal (blank). This is particularly usefull when working with solid-state electrodes as these often have an irregular background signal, which interferes with the detection of small analyte peaks.

Register for this virtual event today to learn more about these and other new features and benefits of viva 4.0!

Key Learning Objectives:

  • New features of viva 4.0
  • Advantages of using the RC with increasing signals for brightener determination
  • The benefits of determining and storing the electrolyte value separately
  • Application examples of background subtraction with solid-state electrodes

Who Should Attend:

  • Current users of viva software, QC managers from the plating industry, suppliers of organic additives for the plating industry, environmental testing laboratories using solid-stae electrodes and interested in lower detection limits.

Presenter: Pascal Feurer (Product Specialist Voltammetry and CVS, Metrohm International Headquarters)

Pascal Feurer has received his MSc in chemistry at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. He has been working at Metrohm International Headquarters for 12 years as a Product Specialist for Voltammetry and CVS, where he gained extensive knowledge in voltammetric trace analysis and plating bath analysis by CVS.
