Join us for a live webinar exploring how the Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometer is enabling new breakthroughs in small molecule analysis. This session brings together two leading voices in environmental and exposomics research:

  • Prof. Lee Ferguson (Duke University), expert in PFAS detection and environmental HRAM workflows
  • Prof. Jonathan Martin (Stockholm University), a global leader in exposomics and metabolomics

Through real-world case studies and expert discussion, you'll gain practical insights into how Orbitrap Astral’s speed, sensitivity, and resolution are driving discovery. The event includes short presentations followed by a live panel Q&A.

Learning points:
  • Discover how Orbitrap Astral is enabling advanced small molecule workflows in areas like PFAS detection and environmental analysis.
  • Learn how to achieve exceptional speed, sensitivity, and resolution in complex analyses.
  • Gain practical insights from expert users during a live panel Q&A session.
Who should attend:
  • Environmental and analytical chemists
  • Researchers working with small molecule quantitation
  • Mass spectrometry specialists and lab managers
  • Scientists interested in high-resolution accurate mass (HRAM) workflows
  • Anyone involved in PFAS analysis or emerging contaminant detection

Presenter: Professor Lee Ferguson (Professor, Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Duke University)

Professor Lee Ferguson is an internationally recognized expert in analytical environmental chemistry, with a focus on the detection of trace organic contaminants such as PFAS, pharmaceuticals, and endocrine-disrupting compounds. At Duke University, he leads cutting-edge research applying high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) to water quality and environmental health studies. A long-time innovator in the use of Orbitrap technology, Professor Ferguson is advancing small molecule workflows through the integration of high-throughput screening and novel data acquisition strategies. His work bridges academia and regulatory science, shaping how contaminants are identified and understood in complex matrices.

Presenter: Professor Jonathan Martin (Professor, Department of Environmental Science, Stockholm University)

Professor Jonathan Martin is a leading environmental chemist renowned for his pioneering work in exposomics, metabolomics, and the discovery of emerging contaminants. Currently based at Stockholm University, his research integrates high-resolution mass spectrometry and advanced analytical workflows to investigate the impact of chemical exposures on human and environmental health. A long-standing user of Orbitrap technology, Professor Martin applies cutting-edge instrumentation—including the Orbitrap Astral—to drive novel insights in small molecule analysis. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and regularly collaborates across disciplines to advance the frontiers of environmental and analytical science.
