Waters Corporation: XEVO MRT in Action - Demo Series
Why Should You Attend?
  • Learn about the operation of the novel Xevo MRT MS technology and see it in Action!
  • Experience the benefits of a system that delivers mass resolution consistent over a broad m/z range independent of scan speed.
  • Discover ultimate flexibility with the all new  DATA Convert application which converts data sets into the universal file format, mzML.

The session will conclude with a live Q&A where members of the Waters Xevo MRT team will be on hand to answer all of your questions.

Presenter:  Martin Palmer (Principal Consulting Scientist, Waters Corporation)

Martin Palmer is a Principal Scientist in the Xevo MRT Program team at Waters Corporation. He has over 20 years’ experience at Waters, most recently leading the scientific contribution required for the evaluation, development and commercialization of new MS technologies including the SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS and MRT.

Martin collaborates extensively with customers to ensure their analytical challenges are understood and addressed by the next generation of high resolution mass spectrometers.

Martin received his Ph.D. in Mass Spectrometry from Sheffield Hallam University, UK (1999). His scientific work has aided the commercialisation of over 10 mass spectrometers, resulted in over 30 publications and two patents.

Presenter: Susan Slade (Principal Applications Chemist, Waters Corporation)

Dr. Susan Slade, a Principal Applications Chemist at the European Applications Laboratory, joined Waters in 2015. Her diverse background includes experience in both academia and industry, including roles at British Petroleum and Severn Trent Water.

Sue’s journey began in microbiology and protein purification / characterization. She initially employed GC-MS to identify products resulting from biotransformations. As softer ionization techniques emerged, Sue shifted her focus to mass spectrometry for studying proteins and peptides (proteomics).

Her academic achievements include a BSc. in Applied Biology and a PhD titled “Mass Spectrometry-Based Profiling and Differential Proteomic Studies of Maternal Plasma.” Remarkably, she pursued these degrees part-time while working full-time.

Since joining Waters, Sue has immersed herself in high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS). Recently, she has been at the forefront of developing strategies and solutions for the SELECT SERIES Cyclic IMS, leveraging novel cyclic ion mobility separations across various application areas.

Dr. Susan Slade’s expertise continues to shape the field of mass spectrometry, driving innovation and advancing scientific understanding.
