Waters Corporation: Intact and Subunit LC-MS Characterization of mAbs and msAbs using Advanced Protein A Columns

Obtaining MS-based intact and subunit characterization of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and multispecifics (msAbs) is a crucial step in the development workflow. However, older analytical methods often fall short, lacking the depth of information required to support regulatory approval for today’s advanced therapeutics.

This webinar introduces an innovative Protein A-MS pH-elution gradient method utilizing BioResolve Protein A Affinity Columns to achieve effective separations of protein variants with modulated binding affinities prior to direct intact high-resolution MS analysis. Join us on October 23rd as we discuss how advanced ProA-MS methods can overcome traditional limitations and deliver the characterization needed to meet the evolving demands of advancing protein therapeutics.

What you'll learn/key highlights:
  • How to achieve MS-based intact and subunit characterization of mAbs and msAbs
  • Why older analytical methods lack the resolution needed for regulatory approval
  • How flexible Protein A LC-MS methods can be for detailed characterization without the need for prior sample preparation
  • How BioResolve Protein A Affinity Columns offer valuable information beyond antibody titer

Presenter: Stephan M. Koza, Ph.D. (Consulting Scientist, Waters Corporation)

Stephan Koza has worked at Waters Corporation for over 10 years and has a primary focus on the use of LC, LC-MS, and sample preparation chemistries and columns for the analysis of biomolecules.

Prior to joining Waters, he had nearly twenty years of experience with biopharmaceutical characterization and analytical method development with Genetics Institute, Wyeth, and Pfizer. Stephan received his doctorate in analytical chemistry at the University of New Hampshire.

Presenter: Arnaud Delobel Ph.D. (Director, R&D and Innovation, Quality Assistance)

Arnaud Delobel is R&D and Innovation Director at Quality Assistance, where he drives the development of cutting-edge analytical solutions for all therapeutic modalities. A recognized expert at the MAB Working Party of the EDQM, he also lectures at the University of Strasbourg. With a PhD in protein mass spectrometry and postdoctoral work in proteomics, Arnaud has built a career at the intersection of science, innovation, and regulatory expertise, shaping next-generation analytical services since joining Quality Assistance in 2006.
