Thermo Fisher Scientific: From Complexity to Clarity: Smarter PFAS Identification Workflows

PFAS contamination presents unique challenges, especially when it comes to detecting unknowns in complex samples. In this webinar, we’ll demonstrate how Thermo Scientific™ Compound Discoverer™ version 3.5 software introduces powerful new tools to streamline non-targeted PFAS analysis, enhance confidence in identification, and simplify data interpretation.

By attending, you will learn how to:
  • Apply advanced Compound Discoverer 3.5 software features to improve non-targeted PFAS detection
  • Confidently identify and annotate unknown PFAS in challenging matrices
  • Streamline data processing and reporting for faster decision-making

Presenter: Richard Cochran, Ph.D. (Senior Application Scientist, LC-MS, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Richard Cochran is a Senior Application Scientist for LSMS at Thermo Fisher Scientific, with over 18 years of experience in mass spectrometry, with strong expertise in high-resolution mass spectrometry and untargeted analysis. Richard received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from the University of North Dakota. Prior to joining Thermo Fisher Scientific, Richard was a senior principal investigator within the Center for Aerosol Impacts on Chemistry of the Environment (CAICE, a National Science Foundation Center of Innovation) and served as the director of the Environmental and Complex Analysis Laboratory at the University of California, San Diego. Throughout his career he has published more than 20 scientific publications in the area of mass spectrometry, altogether having more than 1,500 citations. Currently Richard is a subject matter expert in the area of non-targeted PFAS analysis and helps scientists around the world, across many industries and scientific disciplines, improve the global environment and our quality of life.

Moderator: Zoe Julian (Product Marketing Manager, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Zoe Julian is a product marketing manager for chromatography and mass spectrometry software at Thermo Fisher Scientific.

With over 12 years' experience of working with chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques with a background in GC and GC-MS(/MS) organic environmental analysis, she has helped many laboratories and industries improve their workflows through a unique understanding of their challenges.
