Presenter: Weihan Li, PhD (Junior Professor at RWTH Aachen University)
Weihan Li is a Junior Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Digitalization for Batteries at RWTH Aachen University, where he leads a research group within the Center for Ageing, Reliability, and Lifetime Prediction of Electrochemical and Power Electronic Systems (CARL). He completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology with summa cum laude at RWTH Aachen in 2021, after earning an MSc in Automotive Engineering and Transport in 2017. Li’s research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and physics to drive digitalization in battery technology. Li has received prestigious honors, including the Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher 2024, the BMBF BattFutur Starting Grant (€2M+), the German Thesis Award from the Körber Foundation, the Reichart Prize, the vgbe Innovation Prize, the Battery Young Research Award, the Umbrella Award, and the RWTH Innovation Award, etc.
Presenter: Simone Cailotto, PhD (Associate Market Leader for Batteries and Renewable Energies at PerkinElmer)
Simone Cailotto is working as Associate Market Leader for Batteries and Renewable Energies at PerkinElmer. He studied in Venice and obtained his PhD in Chemistry with a thesis focus on the synthesis of innovative materials and their characterization. After his PhD he focused his attention on nanomaterials from renewable sources. Then he moved to PerkinElmer where he is now involved in the applied market segment with a particular focus on renewable energies and batteries.
