Peptide Quantification: From discovery to routine, with confidence and precision.

The big challenge of proteomics is the validation of potential biomarkers across a large biological sample set. We offer leading edge technology which enables researchers to seamlessly transition from discovery to validation, quickly, and without compromise.

The improved reliability of mass spectrometers together with the added selectivity of the Thermo Scientific FAIMS Pro interface and novel intelligence-driven data acquisition strategies ensure rapid development of robust assays with triple quadrupole and Thermo Scientific Orbitrap technologies.

What you will learn:

  • Confident targeted peptide quantitation
  • Using H-SRM and FAIMS Pro to improve S/N and LOQ
  • Robust, reliable and routine workflows

Presenter: Simon Szwandt (Expert, Sales Support, Thermo Fisher Scientific)

Simon Szwandt obtained both his Masters and Doctorate in Pharmacology at the University of Liverpool. His studies introduced him to analytical mass spectrometry, initially using a Finnigan TSQ7000, and subsequently Finnigan LCQ Ion Traps for targeted quantitation and structural identification. Two postdoctoral positions followed in the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, where he collaborated with amongst others The Wellcome Foundation and SmithKline Beecham.

He joined Thermo Finnigan in 2002, initially as a demo chemist in the Hemel Hempstead facility in the south of England. Subsequently he has held various positions within Thermo Fisher Scientific, focussing on customer support and driving collaborations between factory and customers globally. His field of expertise is quantitative analysis using triple quadrupole and HRAM instrumentation, working extensively with large pharmaceutical companies and contract research laboratories. His current role is an Expert for EMEA in the Omics Support team.
