Presenter: Jana Kováčová (PFAS Lead for Continental Europe, ALS Czech Republic)

Jana Kováčová is an analytical chemist with over 15 years of experience in method development and validation. She earned her MSc and PhD from the University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague (UCT Prague), where she specialized in analytical methods for pesticide residue determination in water and food matrices of both plant and animal origin.

In 2020, Jana joined ALS Czech Republic as a Validation Specialist within the environmental analytical innovations group, later transitioning to a full-time focus on PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) analytics. In 2022, she was appointed Supervisor of the PFAS Section.

Currently, Jana serves as the PFAS Lead for Continental Europe. In this role, she coordinates ALS’s PFAS analytical activities across the region, acting as a key technical representative for PFAS topics. She supports laboratories and clients with strategic guidance and data interpretation, aligns testing approaches across multiple sites, and ensures consistent, high-quality delivery. To stay at the forefront of the field, Jana closely monitors legislative updates and emerging trends, sharing her expertise through client webinars, seminars, and presentations at scientific conferences

Presenter: Sara Beverly (Principal Sales Application Chemist, Waters)

In her current position, Sara is a Principal Sales Application Chemist specializing in food and environmental LC-MS/MS based applications within the Waters UK and Ireland demo laboratory. Sara has worked in F&E analysis with various research interests including the development of both multi-residue HRMS screening and targeted LC/GC MS based methods for the past 25 years in both the government and private sectors. Prior to joining Waters Sara was employed as a Lead Scientist at the Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA, Defra, UK) for 14 years. Sara has participated in EU Food and Veterinary Office (FVO) audit inspections, was an expert on behalf of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and a member of the EuroResidue conference scientific committee.
