Latest advances in RT-MALS

The ultraDAWN RT-MALS sensor integrates inline or online with downstream unit operations to monitor essential biophysical attributes such as molecular weight, nanoparticle size, physical titer and – for AAV or similar small viral vectors/VLPs – full capsid ratio, empty and full titer and more. Now, with the addition of an embedded dynamic light scattering (DLS) module, an ultraDAWN reveals even more product attributes in real time: hydrodynamic size and polydispersity.

In addition to RT-DLS, we introduce the latest RT-MALS product – ultraDAWN Pilot - designed for inline operation with pilot scale DSP unit ops such as preparative chromatography or LNP-mRNA encapsulation.

Presenter: Daniel Some, Ph. D. (Sr. Principal Product Manager, Waters | Wyatt Technology)

Dan Some currently leads product, application and market development for Waters’ real-time light scattering product line.

Previously he contributed to Wyatt’s scientific and technical marketing, and developed instrumentation and software for characterizing biomolecular interactions.

Dan obtained his Ph.D. in physics from Brown University, then carried out postdoctoral research at Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Weizmann Institute of Science. Prior to joining Wyatt he was involved in defense technology and the semiconductor industry.

Presenter: Udayabagya (Bud) Halim (Sr. Product Marketing Analyst, Waters Corporation)

Bud Halimis a senior marketing analyst at Waters | Wyatt Technology with a PhD in physical chemistry from UCLA.

He began his career teaching biochemistry and chemistry and contributing to laboratory manuals before transitioning into the scientific instrumentation industry as an applications scientist.

At Waters, he supports researchers in the characterization of peptides, biologics, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), and viral vectors.
